An interdisciplinary project with a Turkish artist collective TALDANS (Filiz Sizanli and Mustafa Kaplan) that invited Polish performers, Iza Szostak, Karol Tymiński, Zorka Wollny and Wojtek Ziemilski to cooperate, together with a Turkish architect Kursad Ozdemir. 600 steps is an auto-thematic work; it is an organic collaboration and a development of relationships during two residencies: in Istanbul and in Warsaw. The project is based on an instinctive entry into the urban-tissue, where every artist works with different tools, and on the analysis of one’s own clash with the city and memory. At first the artists worked individually, taking advantage of their hitherto experience in reactions to urban, social and artistic spaces of Warsaw and Istanbul. Then they searched for solutions which would allow them to work together in a studio. The result of their cooperation was a playground built in the public space, composed of performative activities and installations established from discovered objects , which each viewer can cross following their own path.
